A Path Appears

This is another book by Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn and it talks about the plight of women. It is a book that shows the brutality of the human nature on the fairer sex. It talks about the atrocities that occur to women done by men. The scary thing is that these injustices have been happening since time immemorial to right now. We all talk and remember slavery, colonization, the holocaust but there is no mention to what happens to women on the daily basis.

When I got to reading these books I came to detest men, and being one of them I couldn't understand why we would do that to another human being. Not being judgemental or anything but as a man I respect women because I have a mother, sisters, cousins and nieces. The men in these books prey on fragile girls and take advantage of them in ways that I am not sure I want to talk about in my blog. The worst part about these men is that they are people who have morals, your next door neighbour, your accountant, church goers and all of that. But behind closed doors they remove their mask and show their true colours to some pitiful girl somewhere.

It would be ignorant to say that I didn't know what some women all over the world are being taken through but I will admit to not knowing the depth to which they suffer. These books bring out stories from the front lines of how women suffer and try to bring out solutions to help them not be victims. The book is not all about gloom and doom but there stories in there that talk about how women are helped or helping each other in some way in order to improve their livelihood.

I am told I do too little to help the struggle of women so I am going to change that by trying to raise awareness especially in this blog. So if any of you out there wants me to promote anything about women and their issues send me an email or comment on this blog and I will be willing to help you out. Note that this will be done for free.
