2015 Grammy Awards

The Grammys are here and they are gone. It's surprising how little I care about it and all the awards. When I was a younger not a few weeks ago but like 15 to 20 years old all this stuff mattered to me. The categories that I was very interested in were hip hop; rock and R n B and best album. But now when I am browsing through the list of winners and nominees none it matters. I guess I should say that I am growing old.

This year Sam Smith was the one to watch, I think he came out with four awards or more I am not sure. To be honest I really like his songs and he being a British act makes it even better. I love British artists, Adele, Amy Winehouse anyone? I just got his album and I can agree why he got so many awards his music is epic.

I think this is the first time, correct me if am wrong that Beyoncé only had one award. In the past when she went to the Grammys she used to come out with everything. I didn't even know why other guys were competing with her. I would dare say that her star is fading or she just didn't have a good album out there. Next time B.

The new artist that I wanted to win was Iggy Azelia. There is so much controversy about the Australian R n B or pop artist and so much hate has been directed at her. I was hoping she wins so that she can silence her critics. Also because she is pretty damn hot.

In the categories I am really interested in: the best hip hop album went to Eminem, no question here coz I am big fan. Best Rap song went to Kendrick as well as best rap performance. Lastly best rap song collaboration was Eminem and Rihanna I mean who doesn't like monster.

Did your artist win?

  1. I watched most of the grammys (admittedly, I fell asleep about half-way through, then woke up and watched the last hour of it). what bothered me the most was the audience. Granted, the audience was made up of musicians and their peers. But very few of them actually looked as if they were enjoying the performances. A quick pan of the audience during the AC/DC opener, showed a few half-assed claps and butt wiggles. pan over to Dave Grohl, and he is rocking out as if he's at a rock concert. The same thing happened when Ed Sheeran joined ELO on stage. The camera showed Paul McCartney really getting into the song, but when Paul realized the camera was on him, and NO ONE else was standing up, clapping and dancing, he waived off the camera and quickly sat down. A few seconds later, the camera shows another section dancing and enjoying the music. It bothers me that the majority of these people just dont have the decency to support their peers. Oh...sorry about the rant!

  2. I planned on watching it, but I forgot which shows how important it really was, lol. I'm crushing on Iggy A. too. I think she's extremely talented and challenging stereotypes, so I stand behind her.

  3. I don't follow the grammies, so neither did my artist win nor lose. The one award show where I was somewhat interested in in the past were the Oscars, but other than that I never really cared much and nowadays even the Oscars aren't getting my attention.

  4. I think its about time Beyonce gave others a chance!! I do love Sam Smith's music though so he deserved his haul of awards.
